The Kani Karan Asia Laboratory Batch Ball Mill, makes possible simulation of grinding in a ball mill-classifier circuit. Grinding is conducted for a fixed time, then material is discharged and classified by hand with a sieve (as illustrated), and sand is returned to the mill for further grinding. Pulp volume can be kept at a minimum by control of wash water so that ground charge can be transferred directly to a batch flotation machine. Mill is easily cleaned. Ball load will not dump out when discharging material. Mill may be operated with side feed cap removed for introduction of air, depending on amount of grinding charge.Cast steel grinding drum has 2-4 kg. capacity, depending on material, and is driven by 0.5 h.p. motor with gear reducer and V-belt. A 18 kg mixed size ball charge is available with unit. Steel stand is supplied. Unit can be used for the amalgamation of table and flotation concentrates by using one 10 mm ball during the grinding cycle. A special attachment is also available for mount¬ing a Trojan Porcelain Jar on the driving shaft opposite the drum.
